Il Saraceno is perched above the sea just a few minutes walk to the center of the village of Positano and conveniently located to public transportation.
Il Saraceno was constructed in the 13th century along with a string of similar defensive watchtowers. They dot the Italian coast from Sicily to Tuscany and most can be viewed by boat on the way to Capri.
Il Saraceno is an extremely unique property in the beautiful village of Positano. It is ideally located for its breathtaking views and easy access to town and the public beach-the local inhabitants are even jealous of this panoramic view and close proximity to shops and restaurants! Il Saraceno is a simple structure with 6' thick walls and only two rooms. The circular environment, with windows overlooking Positano bay, is surrounded by trees and gardens in a gated private property of only seven houses with 210 steps to a private beach. Adjacent to the tower is an annex which is part of the rental. It includes a beautiful terrace, surrounded by flowers, and an outside shower. There are approximately 90 gradual steps down from the street to the property.
The beaches of the Amalfi Coast do not have sand, but consist of smooth round rocks. Aqua-socks or flip-flops are recommended. This property has a spectacular shared cliff-side pool.

[+] testimonialsI LOVED Il Saraceno!
My answers for VIA Villas would be all the same (great!) I loved how funky that place is. It's not overly fancy, even though it's spectacular. It felt just right for the town. A bit of bohemian spirit which SO suits me. I can't tell you how happy I am that I know I'll be going there again in the spring of 2013.
