NEW Villa Sant'Anna is an historic property located in Argegno on the western shore of beautiful Lake Como between Laglio and Tremezzo. The fully-restored villa sleeps nine guests on three levels plus an independent house accommodating up to four additional guests.

A wealthy industrial family from Milan built Villa Sant'Anna in 1911 in Argegno, a picturesque holiday resort on the west shore of Lake Como. The villa is in a sunny, elevated position, with a stunning view of the lake.

Due to its stunning location, from the villa one can see from the headland of Bellagio to the north pre-Alps and as far as Nesso to the south. Just in front of the villa there is the classic S. Sisinnio church. A very romantic spot available for catholic weddings or ceremonies. S. Sisinnio church has been represented in a Winston Churchill water color painted from the garden of the Villa.

The house and garden has been fully restored in 2005, preserving all the ancient details and materials. Marble and terracotta floors, doors, ironworks, decoration are original of 1911. Antique furniture, paintings and statues create a very exclusive atmosphere. A pedestrian road of roman origin leads from the villa to the village of Argegno and the lake, by a 800 meter walking path at a height of 80 meters. The village of Argegno (280 mts above sea level) is situated in a large, sunny inlet on the western shore of lake Como, between Laglio, where George Clooney's house is located and Tremezzo.

Argegno is one of the most favorite destinations for tourists on Lake Como. It has a pleasant climate and it is mild even in the winter months. The village has Roman origins proven by the stone bridge on the Telo stream that dates to the era. The ancient center of the village is very picturesque. A good number of restaurants, a bar, a coffee shop and pubs, attract tourists from all over the western shore of the lake. Hydrofoil and tourist boats connect Argegno to Como and other main interest points.

From Argegno, it is possible to take a cable car up to Pigra and Argegno-Cima della Duaria conservation area (881 meters), which is situated on a plateau that enjoys beautiful views of the lake and of the pre-Alps.

GROUND FLOOR:

From the front door, enter into the entrance foyer and into the large living room with large fireplace, large windows looking out towards the lake and French doors leading to the gardens. A large 550 square foot TV room has sofas and chairs around the Satellite flat screen TV and a CD player. The formal dining room can seat up to 12 guests comfortable. The kitchen includes a wood burning oven, and a small guest bathroom.

FIRST FLOOR:

All bedrooms have lake views, and include a Master bedroom with double bed, seating area, en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, shower and French doors leading out to a large terrace. There are two other bedrooms on this floor sharing a bathroom with shower, and a separate guest bathroom.

SECOND FLOOR:

(Mansarda or attic, with sloping ceiling) Large King bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and bath tub, walk in closet and beautiful views of the lake and mountains. A single bedroom with en suite bath, this room is best for children, nanny or personal staff.

LOWER FLOOR:

The laundry room and a guest bathroom are located in the basement level of the house.

GUEST HOUSE:

(at an additional price, please inquire) The guest cottage can be rented only with the Main Villa at an additional charge and includes a large living room with sofa bed, small kitchen, double bedroom with doors leading out to a private terrace, and a bathroom with shower.

OUTDOORS:

The villa is surrounded by a fenced garden of almost a full acre. Spacious lawns, luscious plants, flowers and trees are maintained in pristine condition. The heated salt water swimming pool commands full sun on a 765 square foot fully furnished terrace. There is an outdoor barbeque area and a sculpture garden as well
