Testimonials

May 2012

This was a stunning place! I love your site. I've shown it to so many people, it's a great "bragging" site, the information is super real, not overblown, and having experienced two properties it was great to see that the information was consistent from location to location. I just went back to the site to see if there was anything that I could find to make a suggestion to improve it, but honestly, I just love your site. the colors, great design, super easy to use.

About this Villa

Casa Janine sits perched on the edge of the hill and was once part of the defensive walls of the neighboring 11th century castle, the principal home on the Castello Visconti estate.

Casa Janine is the principal home in a grouping of houses we refer to as Castello Visconti. It is perfect for up to three adult couples or can be combined with Casa Teatro to accommodate up to 12 guests.

Casa Janine's setting is incomparable with breathtaking views from most windows and the private garden. The villa offers a combination of privacy and a sense of being in the Tuscan countryside with the friendliness of a tiny village setting along historic cobbled streets just beyond the high walls that enclose the garden.

It also has its own private swimming pool, just two years old (another gorgeous swimming pool is available for the other residences in the hamlet).

When the present owners acquired the hamlet, they had the vision to restore, refurbish and revitalize this former medieval Castello and its surrounding buildings. One arrives at Castello Visconti by driving through picturesque countryside and through the imposing entrance to the Castello itself. It is difficult to believe that the occasional glimpse of the Castello high up through the trees is your destination. Its defense of Siena in the past was of such strategic importance that they still fly the Castello flag at the World famous Palio in Siena, to show their gratitude.
