La Capanna was perfect for the four of us. The place was clean, great layout and view. Also we loved the small town of San Giovanni. The owner was charming, helpful and informative.Return clients, Carolyn and Jim S. Downingtown, PA
Hi Lori, We had a wonderful stay at La Capanna. It was perfect for the 3 of us, and would be for 4, but no more than that. The bedrooms were very nice--good beds, nicely decorated, good closet space, and the air units cooled nicely. The views were wonderful and the patio area was lovely. We loved this area, which was new to us. I would describe the pool as a "splash" or dipping pool, since it is tiny--but great for cooling off. I would also definitely do the pre-shopping for groceries again. Thank you so much for our dinner from Nadia. The food was excellent and we certainly had leftovers, which was great. What a treat!! (And totally unexpected!!) You really came through for us in a last minute situation--you're the best. We are looking to go back for the month of May and possibly early June, or late April. Possibly starting in Positano/Sorrento area, Tuscany again, and then the Lakes region. Are you getting anything smaller in that area? We totally trust your choice of villas--both have been exactly as advertised, and even better, and your recommendations are invaluable. Thank you to you and James for once again providing us with an unforgettable experience in Italia!!Pam C. Naples, FL
Villa was as pictured. Rooms very comfortable. Bedrooms are large and should explain that European double beds are even bigger than our Queen beds in case people get nervous that beds not big enough. Bedrooms were so quiet, couldn't hear others in the house. Having the fan and A/C was wonderful! All accommodations and the people to help you were wonderful and caring.Barbara F. New York, NY
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa la Capanna. Federica is a charming hostess who met us at the house and gave us all the information needed. The caretaker, Guilliano, was wonderful and checked on the property early every morning to clean the pool, pick up trash etc. The people of San Giovanni d'Asso were very friendly and welcoming and the village is perfectly located for day trips to Tuscan hill towns like Pienza and Montalcino, and also Siena and Florence. All in all, we had a lovely stay.Vicki C. Manassas, VA
The property was wonderful - the pictures did justice to it. The views were marvelous, and we were well attended by Francisco. Overall, we had a great experience.A. Piccirillo New York City
Villa La Capanna is located in the heart of San Giovanni d'Asso in the upper part of the village - the "Borghetto", near the ancient castle.
Bordering on the garden of Villa Il Castello stands the smaller and very well appointed Villa La Capanna, located right in the village of San Giovanni d'Asso.
The private entrance of the house leads out onto a terrace furnished with a table, six chairs and a large umbrella, where you also a small private swimming pool all to yourselves.
GROUND FLOOR: Entering the house from the terrace guests will find themselves in a wide room, which is divided in several areas: a sitting room with a big 16th century fireplace, a dining area and a kitchen equipped with refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine and a little oven.
FIRST FLOOR: An iron and travertine staircase leads to the first floor where two double-bed bedrooms and one single bedroom (for a child up to 14 years of age) are located, sharing two bathrooms with shower. All bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning and fans. The house is also equipped with an independent central heating system and fireplace.
OUTDOORS: A charming patio is furnished with a table, chairs and a large umbrella. The small private swimming pool (6 x 8 meters) is maintained daily by a gardener. Down four steps guests will find an open space with sunbeds and deckchairs. At the end of this space is a complete bathroom and changing room close to 14th century well closed by a grate.
