Villa Le Scalette in Florence enjoys one of the most beautiful views of the city. An award-winning building, heavily influenced in its style by Frank Lloyd Wright, it was built in 1952 by Rolando Pagnini.
Published in various journals as a unique example of modern architecture, this house has been built to blend into the Fiesole hillside creating uninterrupted views of the garden and Florence using mostly glass and stone fronted cement. Extending over 5,000 sqm, the carefully landscaped grounds are terraced and planted with over 80 olive trees, cypress, oak, almond, pear, peach and fig trees and a rose garden. There is a gated drive leading to the villa with parking and a potential secondary entrance can be used from below the property.
The property comprises the main villa divided into two parts joined by an internal staircase with an independent staff apartment, a guest wing, several outbuildings and a swimming pool. There is an alarm, remote cameras, Cable TV and Internet.
The property has been carefully restored to maintain and/or recreate the original features and materials used in 1952 and there are many built-in cupboards, storage and shelving throughout.

Florence rises on the banks of the Arno River in a vast plain surrounded by the Careggi, Fiesole, Settignano, Arcetri and Bellosguardo hills. The river divides the city into two parts: to the north the areas of Santa Maria Novella, San Giovanni and Santa Croce; to the south the "Diladdarno," the area of Santo Spirito. According to statistics produced by UNESCO, 60% of the world's most important works of art are located in Italy and approximately half of these are in Florence.
