About this Villa

Positioned high atop a dramatic Tuscan hill overlooking the Val di Chiana, Villa Melissa and Casa Victoria are part of the Castello Visconti Estate also found on our website.

Villa Melissa and Casa Victoria are part of the Castello Visconti estate, a collection of houses forming a picturesque hamlet within the shadow of an impressive 11th century castle. Perched high above the Val di Chiana, the setting is incomparable for its breathtaking views.

When the present owners acquired the hamlet they had the vision to restore, refurbish and revitalize this former medieval Castello and its surrounding buildings. Guests arrives at Castello Visconti by driving through picturesque countryside, and through the imposing entrance to the Castello itself. It is difficult to believe that the occasional glimpse of the Castello high up through the trees is your destination. Its defense of Siena in the past was of such strategic importance that the villa still flies the Castello flag at the World famous Palio in Siena, to show gratitude.
